Autumn Wind
is the name of one of four computer football leagues associated with the OCFL
(OOPS Computer Football Leagues). The
other leagues are: Frozen Tundra, Spring Fever, and Summer Thunder. OOPS is an acronym for the Organization Of
Pseudo Strategists formed in 1968 in Santa Ana, California. A fraternal association of gaming
enthusiasts, OOPS has been providing a quality gaming environment for 40 years!
Autumn Wind is your
father’s strategy football league – updated and delivered over the internet. League planning and administration are in
the hands of six people with a combined total of more than 150 years of
strategy football experience.
We invite you to peruse our
website, www.oopscfl.org, and investigate
what fun we’re talking about. If you
don’t feel you have the time, but want a synopsis of Autumn Wind, here you go:
The League
- Autumn
Wind is the name of a dynasty/keeper computer football league.
- The
league consists of two conferences with three divisions of five teams
each.
- Teams
play 16 regular season and various post-season games.
The Members
- League
invitees are closely scrutinized applicants who share a love of football.
- League
invitees pay an annual league fee to participate.
- Many
league invitees have been playing some form of SOM football for nearly 35
years – that’s how much fun there is in this game.
The Game
- Autumn
Wind plays the current Strat-O-Matic Computer Football game version.
- Games
are played over an Internet connection.
- Normal
four quarter games take 60 to 90 minutes to play.
The Teams
- Teams
consist of no more than 53 offense, defense, and special teams players.
- An
Autumn Wind team consists of players from different NFL rosters.
- These
players remain with that Autumn Wind team from season to season unless
traded or cut. Thus, the term
“keeper league”.
